A Dedication to Regeneration
At age 8, after her local wetland and forest playground was destroyed for a suburban housing development, Shannon Brown realized that the wildlife she loved all required native plants for food, shelter, and places to raise their young. She began working with local landscapers, teachers, Master Naturalists, Master Gardeners and volunteers to create a "Schoolyard Habitat for Wildlife" behind her elementary school. She hasn't stopped since and has deepened her understanding with a degree in ecology and over 15 years of observation, maintenance, installation, and enjoyment of habitat gardens.
Shannon founded Ecosystem Regeneration Artisans (ERA) Landscapes to unite talented land stewards on projects that realize the vision of creating healthy ecological communities. From apartment makeovers with plants that remove air toxins to wildlife management on large-acreage ranches, Shannon and her team create projects focused on earth care and people care. Their gardens use native plants to provide wildlife habitat for pollinators and birds, incorporate perennial food crops for human consumption, and often involve mechanisms to harvest rainwater to capture it into the soil before it runs off, becomes polluted and contributes to flooding.
Hunter Reed, Project Manager
Hunter is a dedicated rainscape designer and project manager with five years of experience in the industry, specializing in native plants and rain gardens. With a deep commitment to sustainable landscaping and ecosystem protection, Hunter works with ERA to create spaces that promote biodiversity and protect important sensitive native habitats through green stormwater infrastructure and native plant landscapes.
Rob Tyler, Lead Biologist
A born and raised Austinite, Rob has always been passionate about science and conservation. Graduating with their M.S. in Wildlife ecology from Texas State University in 2023, Rob has been excited to contribute to the regeneration of our native ecosystems with ERA. They are always quick to educate about our environment and speak up for the more misunderstood animals that help our ecosystems thrive. As the latest member of ERA, Rob is ready to assist the people of the Hill Country with their ecological goals and bring nature back to Central Texas.
Ande Beasley
Ande is a dedicated conservationist with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and over three years of hands-on experience in environmental preservation. Her academic background equips her with a deep understanding of biochemical processes, which she leverages to drive innovative solutions for ecological restoration. Ande is passionate about harmonizing the restoration of the natural world with human growth, ensuring that both ecosystems and communities thrive together. Her commitment to sustainable practices and her expertise in biochemistry make her a valuable asset in advancing conservation efforts and fostering a balanced relationship between humanity and nature
